See my blog: Certification for Medical Coding Specialist. It is my feeling that AAPC misrepresents their testing procedures and there is very limited chance of passing their examinations. They have a very large number of members but less than half of them are certified? I would like to know what Specialty Review Board looks at their ability and qualification to control a method of examination and how valid it is as pposed to the need to spend big money to take their courses in order to pass their examination.
